Commissioned Work for „Chateau Royal Berlin“ Construction site tarpaulin, showcase

Perambulating through inner Moscow, I was faced with covered up facades, and construction site-tarpaulins resembling theater backdrops.

The tug-and-pull between control and resistance in public spheres was showcased on these tarpaulins, as the authorities would overdraw the tags and graffiti with white rectangles or sometimes even sew cut tarpaulins back together.

Being commissioned for one of the vitrines inside the newly built „Chateau Royal“-Hotel in Berlin, my idea was to transfer the outsider to the inside by incorporating byproducts of construction processes inside the finished building.
