VITAMIN C - RESTORATION
2022
Intervention, scraps of orange skin tucked into wall-crevices
Dimensions variable
What does the space between silence and violence look like? What is the smallest agency for an act of participation in the public sphere that, due to its inconspicuous appearance, won’t get erased by governmental power structures?
I’m exploring these questions in my public intervention, „Vitamin C-Restoration“.
After witnessing the eradication of public graffiti at a stone wall under a bridge owned by the city of Amsterdam, I’ve placed pieces of orange skin inside the niches between the stones where the graffiti used to be, supplying the wall with vitamin C so it won’t fall ill from the cold city shower.
